[…] The brutal force of the Gregorian chant Dies Irae (“Day of Wrath”), which Liszt wove into his Totentanz (a concertante cycle of variations for solo piano and orchestra), was conveyed not only through the interpretation of the OLW [Orchestra Liechtenstein-Werdenberg]. The young soloist Hanna Bachmann also made it strikingly clear through her brilliant playing at the piano. The cadenzas were at times wild and harsh, at times whispering and tender, then again furious and wrathful. The keys seemed to leap beneath her hands.
